Meritorious Worker of Commerce and Services Decoration

(Odznaka "Zasluzony Pracownik Handlu i Uslug")

Instituted by the Government on November 25, 1966, as the Meritorious Worker of Commerce Decoration (Odznaka "Zasluzony Pracownik Handlu"). Amended and renamed on May 4, 1973. Conferred to workers of state commerce and commercial services for at least ten year exemplary work.

Badge 1966: gilt medal, 28 mm in diameter, showing the hat of god Mercury with a wing (the symbol of commerce) on green background; a white enameled ring bears the inscription ZASLUZONY : PRACOWNIK HANDLU. The reverse is blank.

Badge 1973: gilt medal, 28 mm in diameter, showing the hat of god Mercury with two wings on green background; a white enameled ring bears the inscription ZASLUZONY : PRACOWNIK HANDLU I USLUG. The reverse is blank.

Suspension 1966: green enameled metal bar 28 x 6 mm, with two horizontal gold pinstripes, and a mounting pin on reverse; 1973: as above but without the gilt pinstripes.

Meritorious Worker of Foreign Trade Decoration

(Odznaka "Zasluzony Pracownik Handlu Zagranicznego")

Instituted by the Government on July 31, 1971. Conferred in a single class for long and meritorious work in foreign trade.

Badge: round bronze plaque, 20 mm in diameter, depicting the globe with the seas covered with dark blue enamel. The surrounding nonenemeled ring bears the inscription ZASLUZONY PRACOWNIK : HANDLU ZAGRANICZNEGO. The reverse has a mounting screw. Note: together with the badge the recipient obtained a bronze table medal of the same design, 60 mm in diameter.

1.Badge (silver)

Exemplary Clerk Decoration

(Odznaka "Wzorowy Sprzedawca")

Instituted by the Government on September 18, 1954. Conferred in three classes (gold, silver and bronze) to clerks, shop-assistants, waiters, etc. for exemplary work.

Badge: round plaque, 30 mm in diameter, depicting the winged hat of god Hermes with a factory and conr spike in the background. There is a scroll inscribed WZOROWY (exemplary) at the top, and another one inscribed SPRZEDAWCA (clerk) at the bottom. The reverse has a mounting pin or screw.

Foreman's Decoration

(Odznaka Mistrza)

Instituted by the Government on December 27, 1983. Conferred in one class to factory foremen for at least 10 year long exemplary work.

Badge: golden hexagonal plaque, 25 mm in diameter. In the center there is a red circular shield with a black enameled gearwheel with a picture of a factory on white background inside. There is the inscription ODZNAKA : MISTRZA above and below the gearwheel. The reverse has a mounting pin or screw.
